Well, there could be a number of reasons.
1. As others have said you toss and turn
2. Your Straightener may not be good enough
3. just the way you keep your hair.

Does this mean you have to get up an hour earlier than normal for school or whereever? No, ofcoures not! My hair is very, very thick and its wavvy So I know what you are talking about with it taking an hour. I straighten my hair at night and then in the morning its fine. My secret.. Well first I take a shower the night before but I do this early enough so it will air dry or almost atleast. So I will take a shower at around 7 or 8pm and then just brush my hair and then a few hours later maybe at like 10 or 11 I will straighten it.

The way I do it is I first brush my hair and then I use Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Flat Out Finishing Spray its a purple bottle with a green top. I spray that on top of my head under my head to both sides than I brush it again. then I will take my straightener and straighten my hair. after I'm done I had frizz stuff called Frizz Ease half a dime size and do that under my hair not on top because it makes it look greasy after that I brush it and then will pull it back into a pony tail a loose and low one so it doesn't have the pony tail line

The differance is this would't of worked with my old straightener With that one which was about $30 or so it wouldn't work. I invested some money into it and got a new one called a Chi Turbo which mine is like a gray/ black and then its a red velet type. They arwe expensive but I got mine onsale for aroudn $50. Also get a small one so that the cermice part is an inch. because even though it takes longer it last longer I experiment one weekend and I did my hair on Friday mornign adn it stayed straight until Sunday because I didn't wash my hair until then it may stay longe ri haven't tried.

Anyway..
Get a...
Chi Turbo Straightener 1inch or so
Herbal Essences SDangerously Straight
Frizz Ease.

Also if u spray your hair with the straight stuff right before you walk out the door and brush it it helps just re careful not to do to much esp with the frizz ease it looks greasy fast if u use to much ( u can tell liek a inute aftre u put it all in so u could even kip the frizz ease step my hair is just frizzy tho)

If you want your hair to be straight all the time so you don't
have to straighen it at night or in the morning. I have a good
suggestion for you. I have been doing it for many years,
and nothing is better.

Go to the drug store and buy a perm, something light not
something to strong. Mix it according to the instructions
and lean over the bathtub or a sink and have your hair
hanging in front of you. Add the solution, and keep combing
your hair for twenty minutes. Rince it and blow dry it.
You will be amazed at how straight your hair is. You will
not have to do it again for nearly a year. Don't for get to
condition your hair always.

DO THIS - I swear to you it works...I had the same exact problem...to the point where i jst left my hair curly all the time till....

I bought this great flatiron called ProSelect about 100 dollars but WELL worth it....

to sleep...put your hair in a ponytail on the very top of your head, then take the actual ponytail itself and "roll" it towards the front and pin it down...the result should resemble Woody Woodpecker...

I do this and when I take it down in the morning, not only do I not have to touch it up - it is PERFECTLY straight...

Maybe it is because of the way you sleep, you might toss and turn or when you sweat natural while you are asleep. Try to use some products that wont cause flaking or white residue. Or just straighten it in the morning.

you should straighten it in the morning before you leave your house. not before you go to sleep!
as you sleep, you would definitely toss and turn and that would cause your hair to become wavy again.
well, unless you go for rebonding or relaxing. that would save your trouble of pulling your hair straight every morning.

It happens to me also, you should slepp in a bonnet. It happens mainly because most people tooss and turn in their sleep and it messes their hair up. Good luck with the hair problemm hope this helps:)
