he needs more than a protein powder, he needs a gainer.

at gnc, they have weight gainer products, some up to 2200 calories per serving! (although the servings are huge). these are healthy calories with about 54g of protein, and just about the rest complex carbs.

Never eat protein by itself. Always eat carbs at the same time. The carbs will make you produce insulin, which help protein go into your muscles. Also, the carbs prevent your body from using the protein for energy instead of turning it into muscle.
