Because Vista is so new...some printers are not compatiable yet. The best thing to do is check with the makers of your printer and see if they have updated to be vista compliant. Depending on the maker and age of the printer you may need to buy a new one. As some companies don't update all models to work with new windows.

Wait awhile and stay with XP. alot of companies still have not come out with drivers for printers and other stuff for Vista . And Vista still has alot of bugs in it. I am having a new desktop built by my computer guy here in town and he said stay with Xp for awhile

Vista consistent with se is rather very picky whilst it comprises supported hardware and application. The printer difficulty shouldn't forestall an deploy via itself, however the firewall difficulty might. might advise which you uninstall the firewall quickly, and spot whether that helps you to install Vista.

My Brother printer/scanner/fax is not compatible with Windows Vista ....... yet. Or at least, that's what the Brother website tells me. Better check with your printer's manufacturer to see if your brand of printer is compatible!
