I've been friends with this guy for 7 years and he has told my friends that he likes me but he admits that he's too much a coward to ask me. Alot of people think that we should be together and we've been mistaken as being a couple a few times when we go out. We have never talked about having a relationship and I don't think I could ever ask him myself. Should I just wait for something to happen? leave things as they are now? Is being shy even an excuse?

oh,geez! seven years is a long time already to wait. better to make the first move if you want something to came out of it, girl. if you're going to wait, you might wait until you're too old to do something about it. if it is too important to you, overcome your shyness. obviously, he won't.

Well, first of all, do you like him back? I'm gonna guess you do since you asked about asking him out. If you do in fact have strong feelings for him, you should definitely ask him out! Don't wait, or you'll regret it. Besides, why wait on him to grow a set when you could just go ahead and get to it! It sounds like you two would make a great couple. And yes, shyness is an excuse! It can really restrict a person. Especially when it comes to relationships. He doesn't want to get rejected! He doesn't know how you feel! My suggestion is....make him aware. :)

If you continue in the manner that you are things my never happen if you want them to. Being shy is not excuse, if you really care about this person. Sometimes you have to take matters in a different manner and have faith in yourself to make things happen. On the other hand if he has told everyone else that he is interested in you, he should be man enough to tell you also. There is a lot to look at here and for both of you to decide on whether this is what each of you want to happen also.

Ask him! Take a leap of faith and see where it takes you. You will never get anywhere sitting on the bench waiting for Mr. Right to come over ask you. I asked my husband and we have been together for 10 years. Thank God I asked him out.
