When I had my wrists tattooed I was constantly hitting them on everything, my scabs were always coming off and I was losing ink. In essence the ink was "healing out." After about three months I was noticing some peach and gray spots on my tattoos (they are black).
Your artist will most likely recommend touching them up, which we help you restore color in any spots where the ink came out.
It has been six years since I had them done. The touching up did work. However, the spots that originally lost ink are now a little "bumpy" compared to the rest of the tat.

Picking scabs on tattoos can pull the ink out with the healing skin because what you are doing is basically pulling up skin with the scab and what is embedded into the skin? The ink. You may depending on how bad it was but it will probably just be a little natural fading. Get some touch ups done when you can and that will be all solved.

i think your tattoo will be fine. every time i have my back worked on i forget and put my scrubber on and it only takes a second to remember when pain shoots up and down my back. i have never had any problem with color because of that.
when your tattoo is scabbing and peeling on it's own it kindof peels like a sunburn, not all at once and it is very tempting to help it along. if you do some of the color will come out. maybe not all of it but it will be more dull in some spots. THAT is what they are talking about when you're told not to pick it.

you most likely have NOT caused any damage. you just went over it once accidently right? leaking is normal...however the scab is part of the skin that is healing..you dont want a chunk of your flesh to come off do you?
tattoos heal best if kept away from water for the 1st few days. you only need to wash the tat 2 times a day.
dont put alot of moisterizer and junk on it...it needs air.
I got my tat on Thursday and its healing fine. No scabs, no redness , no itching , nothing. make sure you have a good artist.

It probably will fade in that area..my mom itched her tat on her shoulder an most of its faded now..when part of the scab comes off,so does most of the ink..i'd suggest getting it touched up once it heals all the way..usually tat artists will charge a small fee for touch ups..so dont worry too much..good luck!
make sure the rest of the tat dosen't dry out..keep it mousturized at all times until its healed

I have several tattoos and the main reason your asked not
to touch them or to put anything on them except for the
creame that they suggest, is because the blood turns into
scabs, and they must heal on their own, or the ink can come
out. It's better just to follow the instructions you have been
given and you will be glad with the results. If you do lose
some of the ink, than you can just go back and have it fixed.

if you wash your tattoo with soap and water then pat it dry with ,eg:kitchen paper, always pat don't rub, then apply Vaseline, three times a day, the Vaseline creates a protective layer and helps it to heal without scabbing, if it itches just wash it again.if as u say u already have raised areas make sure they don't come off, scratching e.t.c. a scab runs deep so if u pick it off it will take the ink with it, if as u say its just wept a bit ,i think it may be OK
by the way who is this gouls talking c### like that, get your facts right goulish person, tattoos give u cancer ?please, its like saying m"·/$·"/!·· makes u go blind !!

I believe you will probably lose some of the coloring, but it's really easy to get it touched up once it's healed. So don't worry and don't exfoliate either.

A fresh tattoo is an open sore, by picking or scratching it can scar and ruin the appearance.
Whenever I get a new tattoo I'm afraid do wash it because I'm afraid it will wash off. (I know it wont but that's what goes through my mind)
Be more careful in the future and use plenty of moisturizer and sunblock.

Wow, I dont know, but I would say don't exfoliate while your tattoo is healing. You can put that off for awhile because mistakes like this do happen and now you are worrying yourself. Your best bet is to call the place where you got it done and ask them what's going on.
