If she has never been bred her pelvic bones have set long before now. Do not breed her or it can cause trauma to her. She might even need a C section to save her and/or puppies. Six is getting a little old anyway unless a female is in superior shape and has great nerves. My advise, don't.

No. No chihuahua female under 4 pounds should have puppies. There is a high risk of c-section. And if your little girl is already "frail", there is a high risk she will die as well.

Why don't you just do the right thing and have her spayed?
There are MORE than enough chihuahua puppies in the world (or at least in California) to satisfy everyone.

A three pound dog shouldn't ever be bred, no matter her age.
Think long and hard before making a decision. Consult your veterinarian. It isn't safe at all.

If she is healthy there is no reason why she should not get pregnant. However, as you probably already know, chances are she will only have one or two puppies. When she gets close to her due date, please do not leave her alone because she may need help with the delivery, as she is very small.
