Avoiding conflicts and bending my values don't always apply in the same situations. I've avoided many conflicts just by walking away, or swallowing my pride to allow someone else to feel better about themselves. I have never bent my values to avoid a conflict though.

Let me rephrase that, I've never HAD to bend my values to avoid a conflict.

The truth is, I have bent my values or beliefs many times to avoid loosing my job or check. It is wrong to do, but you asked and I am being honest.

To be a REAL follower of Jesus involves almost loosing everything as these worldly ways are not built upon the actual teaching of Jesus.

One time ,when Jesus actually walked the earth in fleshly body, He said that HE had Nowhere to lay his head. See how poor and homeless he was. He owned NO worldly possessions at all.

I no longer bend my values for anyone or anything. I used to have rubber values that would twist and bend however needed to get what I wanted, but now my values are from God himself and I will never compromise them again.

My values have been built to bend. I am a situationalist. i believe that values APPLY within some situations, and don't apply in some others.

If peaceful resolution is one of my values, and I avoid the conflict, then did I even have to bend my values?
