It depends, he might be allowed off base, but it depends on when his orders are to leave and go to his first duty station, most likely school. Sometimes recruits have almost a week until the ship out. So it really depends on the instructor and base policy. The lodge on the base should be able to accommodate you nicely.

there's lodging on the base. go to the leonard wood website (wood.army.mil, i think) and search for mwr (morale, welfare and recreation), and they'll have info on army lodging. call the number and ask for a reservation, just like any other hotel. they might ask you to call back closer to the date, because they give preference to army/military people, and you'll probably be subjected to loud, obnoxious soldiers all night long, but i thought it was worth it to be on base and pay less. i have a resv at ft. leonard wood army lodging this week and it's about $33 per night. much better than the hotels closest to the base, which are about $55 at the lowest. when my husband graduated from basic at ft. sill, there was a "family day" the day before graduation. they did a presentation around 9 am, then a fancy luncheon, and then the soldiers got the day off til about 9 pm. they also got a pass after the actual graduation, until 9 pm again. we were allowed off-base, but it probably depends on the drill sergeants' mood and whether the graduates did well and earned it. even though my hotel was on base, we went out to the local mall and had photos taken in his class-a uniform. good luck! and i also recommend getting married asap so he can get paid more and you can have benefits and a housing allowance. just a suggestion... don't rush it if you're not ready.

Yes there is lodging on post there, but you may not be able to stay there you may have to stay in a town called St.Roberts. When my husband graduated he couldnt leave post. We rode around in a car for six hours on family day and i seen him for 10 minutes on graduation day. It really sucked. My husband is now in Iraq, but it was only 2 years ago when he graduated. I hope i heled some.

i graduated ft.lostinthewoods(leanardwood) 5 yrs ago,, you will have to stay in a hotel off post as ou are not a family member,, you will need to book in advance, as during grad there will be no room available.you are going to have to fly in to st Louis, and drive 200 miles to ft.wood, there is no airport any closer than that.he will be aloud off post after grad,, they usually give you 30 Min's to vacate the barracks you did basic in. i hope this helps some

i graduated from ft jackson, but usually most military posts will have somewhere for you to stay, or at least be able to give you the names of some places.

and there were a couple people in my unit at graduation who were allowed off base even though it wasn't a parent/spouse with them.

you should be able to go to this website: http://www.wood.army.mil/187infbde/BasicTraining.htm, click on your fiance's unit, and get graduation info, on any questions you have.

good luck!

Yes I went to Fort Lost in the woods in the state of misery. They have it to where you two can spend time together, at least that's how it was when I was there but that was in the early 1990's.
