I can't seem to fight the urge to sleep on my stomach. It causes me neck and back aches. I just can't quit the habit. Does anyone one have any ideas?

Lie on your back with a pillow beneath your knees. When your knees are bent it straightens your spine and reduces the pressure on your back. It should be comfortable enough to prevent tossing and turning onto your stomach. Try lying in that position while you read/watch television so that your body gets used to the position.

Wear something with a pocket on front and put some marbles in it-- Pin the pocket shut. When you roll unto your stomach it will be uncomfortable-- but hopefully not enough to wake you up--- just make you turn back to your side or back.
The best sleep position for back pain, pregnancy, knee or neck pain is on the side, knees bent, with a small pillow between your knees. You can buy them in a sort of 'dogbone' shape which helps them to stay put--- Really does make a big difference.
Hope you feel better!

Along with what the other person said about pillows, try also getting a large pillow to cuddle up to. Maybe having the pillow against your stomach and chest and being able to put some of your weight on it will feel good to you, but keep you off of your tummy.

roll over. Just kidding. I have the exact same problem. It's a toughy cause you have no control over what you do while in sleep mode. I will start on my back and wake up on my tummy with a nasty back ache. good luck to you.

"out of the box approach"

Its said that people that sleep on their stomach have self worth issues, and a lack of confidence. Find a way to gain in these crutial catagories and you may end up sleeping on your back.

Try this: Make sure that you have enough pillows under your head to prop you up then put a pillow between your legs. It should keep you from turning over and will make you feel better.

I have heard of people attaching something to the front of whatever top they are going to sleep in such as a hairbrush or a tennis ball by sewing it into the shirt.

Get a body pillow if you tuck between your knees and tuck it real close to you ,it will help to keep you from rolling on to your stomach.
