I am looking for any and all ideas for this craft project i am trying to tackle. I have a wedding to attend in 2 weeks and i want to give them a homemade wedding card but i want to somehow incorporate their wedding invitation into it, or the theme of it, but i dont want them to think i am completely copying their invitation so it has to be a fair bit different. Thanks to all of those who send me ideas.

Do you want it to be just a card or a keepsake? If you want it to be a keepsake why not frame it in a shadow box that they can hang on the wall? I was just at Hobby Lobby and saw all kinds of different kinds there.

Good luck!

I found the cutest stamp at Micheal's it says JUST MARRIED and has a string of shoes dangling from it. I used this for my thank you cards.I bought ribbon in the colours from the wedding and some striped silver scrap book paper. I stamped the stamp onto paper that I mounted on the silver paper and line both sides with the ribbon all this was put onto the front of the card. I would do something like this but with whatever design was on the invite or just in the same colour of the invites.

I would take the picture or design from the front of the invitation and change the transparency on a computer to lighten it and use it as the background for the inside of your card. Or use it as a border on the inside of the card around your words. Then I would use the different colors of the invitation to decorate the front using ribbons or something. Hope this helps!

It might help if you had a picture of the invite or a description of it.
I think the biggest way to make it look similar without copying would be to find their wedding colors or colors they used on the invites and use them for the paper or ink or ribbon/decor for your cards.

Why don't you take their invitation and put it in a shadowbox and add a few things of your own. Most people frame their invitation anyway and this will be special.
