Tylenol contains Acetaminophen, which does NOT cause blood to thin. It's a VasoDilater, what that means it is increases the size of parts of the vascular system (i.e. veins and arteries) allowing them to carry more blood.
Tell your co-worker to quit being a know it all.

I go along with what Brian the pharmacist says. Alll of my life I've been asked if I was on blood thinners(aspirin). I've had 46 surgeries since I was 17 (am 38 now) arthritis since birth.Over 12 forms of arthritits. 17 aspirin a day when I was only 7 years old. Talk about ringing in the ears. So I have tried numerous meds and they never (as I got older) wanted me on aspirin because of so many surgeries but I could take Tylenol. As for the co-worker YOU WIN YOU WIN just ignore people like that and they go away in time. Good Luck

Most over the counter pain relievers like Motrin or aspirin will thin your blood. However Tylenol works differently from these and will not thin your blood.

Tylenol itself does not have any blood thinning properties. Too much tylenol can affect your liver, which might have an effect on your bleeding, but that is quite remote.

I had never heard this but I did notice in one of the references that bruising and bleeding occasionally are side effects. Also Tylenol is definitely not good for people with liver disease or people who drink alcohol (more than three drinks a day) also it should not be taken with alcohol

I think aspirin causes blood to thin, not tylenol.

no, but ibuprofen(motrin) or naproxen sodium (aleve) or aspirin can.
tell the co-worker to buzz-off. end it by saying you are TRYING to thin your blood- or my favorite- the blank stare and silence.
