If you were around back then, and you knew that Jesus had to die, or else everyone would go to hell, would you have saved him from dying if you could have?

I realize that the belief is that it wouldn't have been in your power. This is a hypothetical.

NO course not. But if I was alive in that time I probably not have known the whole Pauline revelation becaus it was not revealed until the writings of the Apostle Paul.

This was Christ's destiny.

It was part of the master plan.

So even if you saved him on the day , he would have died eventually.

He was brought here for our salvation.

This is why he picked Judas , his best friend to deliver him to the enemy. Who else but a true friend could do this knowing that it would probably result in his own death.

Christ death was symbolic as he rose according to the scripture and ascending in to heaven.

I do not know if making a martyr of myself would have been the solution. Christ lives on and I would simply be dead , quite possibly an unknown martyr.

It would not be possible. They only did to Him what He allowed them to do. Actually Peter tried to stop them, but Jesus rebuked him.
