All islands will be nice, especially the Grand Caymans. Here's my thoughts...that might help you decide.

As for cruises, my suggestion would be to take one leaving San Juan since there aren't as many days at sea and you go to better islands. You can get plenty of time on board the ship at night.

Buy your own snorkel gear here so you won't have to spend about $30 for a ship excursion once you get to an island. Just get off the ship, head to a taxi and ask him where is the best place to snorkel, or a beach that has a bar, or ... whatever your interests happen to be and he'll know the best spot. He'll pick you up when you ask too, just bring a few extra bucks for a tip.

Depending upon your age, Carnival is great for twenty somethings and 30s too, or any age actually, although most cruise lines are about the same. You hear raves about RC being great, but my friend just came back and she said she stayed awake one night listening to her husband snore on one side of her and his friend, in the next room, snoring on the other side of her. So...bring some ear plugs? LOL I dunno, I never had that problem with any cabin I've had, from the bottom of the ship to the top w/a balcony.

If you've got days at sea...and you've got the money, then a balcony is well worth the price since you'll feel that you "own" the ship with so much privacy. It's wonderful to say the least, otherwise, book a cabin with a window. (I had a hard time in a windowless cabin, but that's me.).

Two weeks before you set sail, call the cruise line directly and see if there are any free upgrades. Sometimes this might work, depending upon how filled it is.

I usually find a good deal by comparing prices for cruises here: iBtraveling.com This way you won't have to pay a travel agent's fee. If you can type...why not compare yourself for the deal you want best and type the info yourself? I've never had a problem, although I've read and learned that once you put your order in online for "anything" and you've used your credit card....That you should shut down your computer completely and restart it and start surfing again. Just to be safe.

Well, those are my thoughts. Hope they help. Enjoy!

The Caymans are wonderful. Its a haven for snorkelers and divers so if you like the water, you will definitely be in the right place. Stingray City, where you swim with the sting rays is not to be missed. Its an incredible experience. While on land try to spot the endangered blue iguanas around the area. You'll see them in the strangest places if you are looking.

Cozumel has the most beautiful blue water I've ever seen. Its wonderful there. You can swim with the dolphins or travel around the city on a segway and a dozen other things in between.

Generally the most popular excursion on a Western Itinerary is visiting the ruins. It can be a moving experience being so close to these wonderful ruins.

Any more questions or want more specifics?? Just Ask!!! Debbie

The itinerary is good if you havent been there before. The ports of call are pretty limited after a while. Like they all stop in Cozumel, acouple of the other Mexican ports are new, setup type ports for tourist and you have to take a tour to see something. If you haven't been before then you'll enjoy it.

In Cozumel, don't waste time driving tor taxing around the
island and don't go to the ruins there as they are very small compared to those in the Mayan Riviera. Go to the cruise lines's website and see what tours they offer so you can find what you like.

Excellent choices. Better than the Eastern in my viewpoint. On Grand Cayman, do the excursion to Stingray City. It is 100% safe and amazing to handfeed the huge stingrays. You will come away with a new view of this magnificent animal.

At Cozumel, take a taxi and go to Chakkanaab Park. It is a nature preserve and you snorkel over a reef to see all kinds of fish. You can also walk around and see plants, pools, and best of all, huge iguanas.
