I am naturally a brunette and have tried dying my hair to its natural color. But eventually it will begin to lighten and show reddish/copper tones. I dont know what to do. I tried different dark brown dyes and nothing works.

hair dye fades. you might try using a shampoo for color treated hair.

Your hair dye is fading, and you must have natural reddish tones. Mine does the same thing. I dye it black, but when I go into the sun the red still shows. You just have to keep dying it, and use a shampoo and conditioner that helps keep the dye from fading.

go see a pro!! that stuff is terrible for you! I'm sure your not using good products either if your doing at home color. Try something that is not damaging your hair at the same time as coloring and maybe it won't fade out so much

the reddish tones you're seeing is from a reaction to the sun .Try using a sunscreen on your hair ,and wearing a hat .

Wait for it to grow out. Then it will be it's natrual tone. Or just keep on dying it.
