I found out when I was about 13 that I had scoliosis. It looks almost like an "S", but not quite. I went to the doctor and they told me to wear a backbrace. Because of my stupidity, I barely wore it. Now, I'm about to turn 21. Can I still fix it? Will it affect me when I eventually become pregnant? Will I have a big hunchback when I get old? PLEASE give me some answers! I'm like stressing out.

I think that it is fixable unless the curvature is way too severe but now since your bones are probably more solid than they were when you were 13,it 's going to take more effort and possibly more surgeries than it would have before but the only way is to check with an Orthopedic Surgeon.
An 19yr old daughter of a friend of mine has this and her pregnancy and labor went fantasically well with it being her first baby.
Now as far as getting old, there are normal changes associated with getting old as arthritis and degenerative disc disease which could possibly cause you more trouble than the usual aging person so in the long run you WILL probably most definately benefit from a current visit, diagnosis and treatment/surgery by an Orthopedic Surgeon.

Scolious or curvature of the spine should be and can be helped at your age,I would say the results may not be as good now as when you were 13 but it still will be worth it.
I have a little problem as to why it took so long for it to be discovered and a doctor only told you to wear a back brace?
Specialist in that area go buy what % your spine is curved and if you were born with it(which I thought all people who had it were born with it) they can pretty well guess how many % it will curve as you grow.
and when an operation would become needed.
Just telling you to wear a backbrace suggests to me your % of curve was not that great, but there were no other appointments made to check on that.?
You had no outside symtoms of this like a limp,or legs that looked to long for the rest of your body from the waist up.
Instead of asking about it here go to a specialist and do your question asking there, because yes it will affect your entire life, and you never know when it might curve badly depending on what is the cause.
So please get that taken care of now,get well and enjoy becoming pregnant.

It is not to late to fix your scoliosis. I will turn 20 this month and just had a scoliosis surgery. My doctor decided to do this after watching my curve grow 4 to 5 degrees over a year and a half. My scoliosis was not found until I was 17 and a half. My doctor suggested surgery for me about 8 months ago, he said since I have pretty much stopped growing, a brace would not help in my case. And decided to do surgery on me now while I am young and healthy and resilient. If we had let it go till I got older and it was hurting me more or pushing on my organs (I also have kyphosis, sorry about the spelling), I might not be healthy enough for surgery. You should go and see your doctor, have him take some X-rays (make sure they're done with you standing up, scoliosis always looks better when your laying down) and see what he suggests for your particular case. Good Luck!

it's not to late to get therapy and treatment for your scoliosis, but how severe is the scoliosis now ? you may need to really wear your brace and observe, otherwise surgery can also be another option for more severe cases. It definitely will affect your fututre pregnancies with regards to your posturing but again it all depends on how severe is your scoliosis.

It depends on the severity. It may be correctable with manipulations from a chiropractor or an osteopathic physician, but more severe forms require surgery to correct. You will need to see a doctor to discuss your options.

To date, only device or treatment that gives permanent correction proven by peer reviewed studies are surgery and Spinecor brace. Unless very severe, surgery would be overkill..

My advise is to see an orthopedic doctor soon and take his/her advise. In this day and age, lots can be done for almost any condition.
