I just read the thread below, the best answer chosen describes who Jesus really is very clearly with bible verses.

Yet all other poster defend that Jesus is God without reason, or intelligent argument.

Why do you not accept Jesus' father as the only God. Remember the bible states God is one.

for "I", "the" LORD, your God, "am" a jealous God,... Exodus 20:1-6

What is it that you don't grasp??????? I am totally amazed!

SO, you missed these verses........

I and my Father are one. John 10:30

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...All things were made by him...He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us John 1:1, 3, 10, 14

Jesus saith...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

God is the first and the last.

I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. Isaiah 41:4
Jesus is the first and the last.

Jesus said, "Fear not; I am the first and the last:" Revelation 1:17

Nope, I completley get the Bible, looks like you need to look a little closer at it though.

In this forum people generally don't have the patience to listen to the verses that lead to a trinitarian understanding of God. For example, imagine what people would think if I started with the verses that demonstrated the unity of God, then other verses which speak of some kind of diversity, then I lay out the verses that demonstrate the divinity of the Son, then finally the verses which demonstrate the personality of the Holy Spirit. What would happen if for good measure I tossed in an explanation of how early church leaders only addressed the most immediate theological concerns in the face of persecution, while as soon as there was a reasonable amount of time to dedicate to a complex theological issue like trinitarianism and all of its ramifications, this was indeed taken up in the fourth century? Do you see what I mean? Without even listing a single verse, many reading my post are probably saying, "Too long!" Well, friends, the doctrine of the Trinity is too complex and too important to answer in a single proof text or witty quip. Some doctrines are more complex than others. Accurately describing the Tri-unity of God (how He's one in certain ways and three in certain other ways) takes more time and patience than the average reader has in this forum.

Probably because Jesus himself says a few times that he and God are the same. Probably the basis for this belief.

They don't believe there are multiple Gods - but that God has the capability of being three different things at once. Yet still maintaining his centeral being. He never changes from being God.

Why is that such a hard thing to understand? It actually makes more sense and a better foundation for Christianity then what you're talking about.

And what do you do with Paul - who talks about this all the time?

What is even more amazing is that the only clear trinitarian statement in the bible was added in the sixteenth century.

1 John 5:7-8 is the most elaborate explanation in the bible. Unfortunately, these verses do not appear in ANY version of the text of the bible prior to the sixteenth century. ALL old manuscripts omit them. The were a later addition specifically to give biblical credence to the argument.

Note that this is not to say that the jehovah's witnesses are right, just to say that on this one point they make more sense than other christian cults.

The truth is that there is not a trinity, duality, or unity. There is a nonentity.

Wow, it is pretty apparent from scripture that Jesus is God and that the Holy Spirit is God also, as well as the Father. Even the Jews of the time realized that Jesus was calling himself God when he said I AM.

In the book of John you have: In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God (The Father), and the Word was God.

You probably say the Holy Spirit was God's substance or a force, but Jesus said this about the Holy Spirit: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God,and the Word "was" God(not "a" God).

God is triune and created man in his image.

Body-flesh,blood,bone
Spirit-the real you or heart
Soul-the mind,will and emotions

Father
Son
Holy Spirit

Just as man is one in his triune nature,God is also.

Think of God as 1x1x1 not 1+1+1

It is a well-known fact in chemistry that plain water, when placed in a vacuum under 230 mm. of gas pressure and at a temp. of 0 degrees cent.,solidifies into ice at the bottom of the container, remains liquid in the center and vaporizes at the top. At a given instant the same water is both solid, liquid and gas, yet all 3 are manifestations of the same basic substance of nature.

Thank you!!! I thought that I was one of the only ones who saw the Bible for what it really says. I'm glad to know that there are some other people rightly dividing the Word!

How can one be a "trinitarian" if they believe that God is more than one? Isn't that totally impossible?

The good news is that God loves us so much that He gave His life to us. In order to do this, He had to come to us, as our Messiah, our Saviour. He is the only one who could live a perfect life in exchange for our own. He did not have to, but He came to us in the flesh as the God the Son, who we know as Jesus Christ. This was done by God the Spirit, who we know as the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit).

Do you have a Bible where the son of God is not mentioned? Do you have a Bible where the Word of God is not mentioned, or the Spirit of God? Where did you get this Bible?

By whom was Mary found with child by? Who was in the form of a dove?
Mt 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Mt 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Mark 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Mt 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Lu 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
John 1:32-33 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

God became flesh...
Joh 1:13-14 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Joh 6:53-56 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Romans 1:3-4 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Ro 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Col 2:9 For in him [Jesus Christ] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Joh 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

How many more of these verses are not in your bible?
