Any and every sin puts us short of perfection, so all sin is equal to God. On the other hand, that does not mean that they are equal in consiquence or in the eyes of man. I find it interesting that when God gave the law to Moses, several sins had different consiquences. Things that we would not see as so bad, warranted stoning or banishment from the group, but stealing meant you had to replace what you stole 7 fold, etc.
Sin is sin, but consiquences differ. Just like a "white" lie is just as much of a lie as a "big" lie. One may bear a much larger consiquence, but they are both lies.
The reason God sees a sin as a sin no matter which it is, is because they all separate us from God. The standard is perfection. Anything you do wrong causes you to fall short of that standard.

All sin keeps us from heaven, so no, none is worse than the other. No matter, some think THEY are going to heaven, but homosexuals and adulterers aren't. No one knows the heart of another individual, or knows how much they have struggled with their sin. No one knows another person's relationship with God. Our fall comes in comparing ourselves to others. We trick ourselves into thinking WE are less sinful than other people are. That WE love God more than they do. That WE fight sin more than they do. We simply don't know the intent of others. God judges our intent, not our actions. All sin keeps us from heaven. We are only saved through grace. Some sin causes more pain to others.

Hi redglory. Yes there is a sin that will not be forgiven. That sin is blasphemy. The Bible teaches us that blasphemy is declaring Satan sent Jesus Christ and that blasphemy is the only sin that will not be forgiven. In Mark 3:22 God tells us:
"And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”
They were convinced the power Jesus used to cast out devils and heal people came from Satan himself. Christ teaches us more about the unpardonable sin of blasphemy in Matthew 12:32:
"...it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
Now, a person has to do more than just say Jesus was sent by Satan to commit blasphemy. That person truly has to believe it. The fact that a person is worried about committing blasphemy is a sign that you have not committed blasphemy.

All sin is equal in God's eyes, but personally, I think in the case of marriage, adultery is worse. In general, murder is worse.

Sin is sin to God. "If you call someone a fool it is the same as murder" New Testament......To man there are different consequences for different sins and therefore some are worse than others.

Thanks for asking, Red! There are certain ways in which all sins are the same. For example, they all separate us from a holy God, and they all lead to death. On the other hand, there are certain ways in which all sins are different. For example, hitting someone results in a small penalty in the Mosaic law, but killing someone results in capital punishment. Sins are often ranked according to the negative consequences they cause.

I don't know if you're looking for Biblical answers, but in James we learn that if a person is guilty of breaking one part of the law, we're guilty of breaking all of it. That suggests that they're all the same, and basically interchangeable.
So if I lied to you about what the verse said, I'm a child molester. If you say in your mind that I'm a fool, you just smothered a baby.
So, I say that all sins are equal.

One theologian explained it to me that all sins are equal in the eyes of God.
Presuming God is perfect, anything less than perfect, would simply be imperfect. Totally either white or black, no gray. This logic makes sense to me.

Sin is sin. There are degrees of sin just as there are degrees of reward. God will deal with the sin of men at the Judgment.
