There are two ways to straighten hair: heat and chemicals.

Heat: Either use a flat iron, or a blow drier with a brush to dry your hair straight (This month's Allure magazine has an article explaining just how to do that). Don't load up on conditioner, and it helps to use a little bit of product (like gel or cream).

This will only be temporary, and washing your hair or exposing it to any moisture will make it wavy again.

Chemicals: You can have a pro chemically straighten your hair, using the same chemicals as in a perm. However, hair straightened this way tends to be very flat, with no body, and there is a slight risk of the chemicals making the hair more curly. But this is permanent, and will last several months until your waves grow back.

Do you go to a salon to straighten your hair? Some people just have stubborn hair. My online friend is having that same problem. She does what they tell her, but it still goes wavy. A straightening iron should help. Straighten it with a straightening iron, and then use hairspray.

Don't use conditioners every day .you can use a apple cider vinegar rinse ,1 part acv to 8 parts H2o[water] then use a good gel in hair, comb straight .the less irons the better, but if you have to get a good one.
