Prayer and fasting go hand in hand. You fast to get closer to God and hear his voice better. I fast three days in a row once a month. I am going to try a seven day fast...one of these days, I hope. I would recommend, for you, a day fast, two meals and eat the last one. You are suppose to read the bIble, and listen to christian music all day. Try to obstain from the TV (the tv has commercials that have food advertizements that will drive yoour hunger crazy) and computer, kind of distracting. You can drink water, juice (unless you want to fast from fluids) soup with no veggies in it, even coffee, but coffee has caffeen and will stimulate your appettite, no protein drinks or meal replacement drinks or slimfast drinks, thats cheating. You can reward yourself with fastfood at the end of your fast if you feel like it. Drinks lots of water, some of your food you are adstaining from has fluid in it and you are not gettign that fluid. You can suck on candy for fluid, but not too many pieces and don't eat them, the candy is to keep yourself from getting a dry mouth.

Not really, you can fast if you want to. The longer you fast, the more chances of removing your sin. But sometimes when there's some kind of event. Then you are encourage to fast.Actually you can pray and fast anytime as you wish.

fasting is a great way to regain your focus with God and strengthen your relationship. at most you should fast once a week. when you fast, you replace all the time you would normaly spend thinking about food and the time you would spend eating and replace it with prayer and God-time
thats all there is too it!
good luck and stay strong! (remeber to drink water tho...)

Prayer is a waste of time. There are no gods.
One man on his feet can do more than a billion people praying.
Unless you're fasting for some kind of health reason, I don't see a reason for that either.
