Remember that there are three formulas in english too: More + adjective + than, less + adjective + than, as + adjective + as. Come up with a " catchy " strategy for your students to memorize the comparison formulas in spanish.

I really don't see this as anything difficult to remember. The only slight problem for a learner is tan/como with two different words (rather than two words the same: as/as). Teach it, and then get your students to practise it, then move on to the next teaching point. Your students will wish all their learning was tan fácil como esto.
