Eating an hour to a half hour before you eat will give you needed energy for a better workout. When you eat after you exercise, it replenishes what you burned off during your exercise and then stays in you to possibly cause you to gain weight before your next exercise.

You don.t want to exercise on a completely empty stomach,but keep it light,like a banana,toast or yogurt,then when your done exercising have a healthy balanced meal.Always drink lots of water before during and after you exercise,because its great for losing weight and its very important to keep hydrated.

if you eat before a workout, eat 3-4 hours before, some of the answers to this question are really misinformed information. you want to lose weight, do your workout before you have breakfast, it keeps your metabolism going, also, have protein before you go to bed like cottage cheese or a glass of milk because your body burns protein while you sleep and you dont want it to take the protein from your muscle because you need your muscle to lose the fat. have protein and rich fats like peanut butter. its best to have a shake after you workout. for myself if i cant workout before breakfast, i usually workout before dinner. i have water and a granola bar 3-4 hours before, you need to eat 3-4 hours before you workout during the day because you need the energy. just so you know i bodybuild for passion but i own a company for a living.

drink a protein shake before (Naked has 40g). Then Eat a light meal afterwards. u dont want to cramp up while exercising

eating a simple food just before, in a small amount, (too much will give you a cramp) something that has a decent amount of carbs, and a good amount of protein. this will start your metabolism and help you burn fat.*work out* then eat something full of protein to help build muscle
