yea its perfectly acceptable. if you are not planning to get married until after you graduate and get your careers going, its up to you how long you want the engagement to be. if you know you're going to get married one day, theres no difference b/w getting engaged now or later :) just stay happy together

It's Acceptable Anytime You Think It's Acceptable. You're Both Around The Age I Want To Be When I Get Engaged To Be Married, So Why Not? I Think It's A Good Time To Start Your Life With Someone You Love. If You Don't Feel Like You're Ready, Plan A Wedding Date A While Off So You Can Get Used To The Idea And Don't Feel Rushed. If You're Not Comfortable With The Idea Of Being Engaged, Don't Do It. You Don't Have To Do Anything You Don't Want To.

Sure it's acceptable. I'm 20 and engaged to someone I've been with for 5 years. I don't plan on actually being married in the near future, just because I think most people would see us as a bit young for that, not to mention the cost, but engaged just means that we know we will be some day. So that's fine if it's what you want.

Yes, but be careful. Getting engaged is a big thing that can draw alot of attention away from much needed things like studying. You need to set limits and revisit life goals with each other. If you're gonna get married and start a family, it's a big thing that both of you have comfortable careers, for your kids and your own sakes. Good luck and Congrats.

Only you know what is acceptable...I don't even think "acceptable" is a word you might want to use in this case. If you feel you're ready to be married, or actually if you KNOW you're ready to be married then by all means get engaged whenever your heart tells you.

I don't see a problem with it at all...I have noticed that in the medical school in which I work, many get married prior to starting or during med school.

It certanly is, however every couple is diferent. If you've realy thought about it and your sure this is what you want, then go for it and good luck. If you have doubt, then just keep dating untill your sure enough to make a real life comitment to him. Good Luck!

I think it is perfectly okay to get engaged during grad school. It doesnt mean you have to get married right away!!

thats aceptable. You guys are mature adults and are able to make decisions. The only problem might be is that you cant support one another finicially, but if you can then good ahead and get hitched
