Re: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070311194040AAe0vyh&r=w#NbUvWze1VjC.OaAXBBsn I read all the strong responses to this post and just couldn't believe the passion people showed. Quotes like "this is the worst" "it makes me sad", all for some silly people who are just making silly videos. It made me wonder what the response would be to something like this:
http://www.thesahara.net/starving.htm
I think your time would be better spend praying for THESE people. When I saw THIS, it made me cry. I just wanted to show some people the types of things they should be worried about, rather than some silly video contest.

Wow. That lady wanted people to pray for that. She might have well asked people to pray for Steve O from jack*ss. Anyways prayer won't do anything for the kids that die of starvation everyday in Africa. If you really want to help them then you have to take action and not just pray.

I don't know.. Seems like if you were a 'good Christian' you'd rather be preventing people from being damned to an eternity of burning and suffering than just a lifetime of starvation...
I really don't feel this way, but I thought I'd make the point. I am an atheist.

Oh God. Impossible. No . No need of Prayer for these people. We need to do something. I dont know who will organise to start doing Something. Any sort of Real Help. Even if we can send a bottole of Water or a can of Rice or if we just collect foods those we just through to our Bins and send then. Or if we justr stop eating a small less and save this money for them. Pls Call me if you just PLEASE start. I will not Pray. But I want to participate doing for them.

That website broke my heart. World hunger is a BIG issue with me. Days that I miss a meal and I start to feel bad because I am hungery, I stop and think of the children who have gone without for DAYS...and I think about all that I have...I start feeling guilty. I do as much as I can charity wise but it is never enough.

There's no reason that we can't pray -- or feel badly -- for both groups. One is dying physically, and the other is committing spiritual suicide. Both are in deep need of prayer and all the help we can possibly give them.

Do you know that it is not our prayers that save them? In the sense that it is God whose great love sent Jesus to die for everyone (including every single one of those people you referred to, you and me) that saved them/us? The gift of salvation and righteousness is given to them along. They chose not to receive it for now.
Do we have a heart for them? Of course, it is just that we only need to pray once! Because our God surely answers. =)

More important that "god" is feeding the hungry, a mission charged to christians by "jesus".
