if it is not possible to ignore what we dont like (and in here it is pretty easy thing to do, just pass to the next question) how can we say we dont understand people killing others because of their religious beliefs, whatever colour they are?
if just questions make people really angry what would a more personal offence make of them?

insult and offense is in the eye of the beholder...if you feel insulted that means you are letting yourself be insulted

I raher expect that those that choose to be angry are also those that have not yet learned to respect other people's space. Getting angry is a choice like anything else. It is the differences here that make things interesting...Have a happy and blessed day...Mmm

Fine, if you are talking about two questions, but if you come here during the daytime, it is almost nothing but blasphemy, insults, perversion, and harassment of anything good.

I do not get angry personally, I just come back when they calm down or go away. If they do not go away, then I will go away, there is not reason to go to a place like Yahoo Answers if the total reason and point to it is defeated.

I like the idea that someone can come on here and pose questions that someone else does not like, or even make them angry, to help them to think, or to advance a theory or whatever. Anything like that along the lines of discussion and reasonable apologies, justification, learning, thinking, etc., even some fun -- all that is fine. But coming on here and simply trashing the entire place is a completely different story.

Because people take things personally. When some people read questions they already feel like they are being personally attacked. That it is a personal offense.

Or, sometimes a question really hits home. It challenges something that they believe in. And they either become fearful and angry.

A person who poses a question solely to insult someone deserved the kick in the teeth he gets . The internet allows spineless dorks to feel powerful by saying things to people that they are afraid to say to their face. You ask why. You can spot these cowards because they hide their email addy because they are afraid of even being confronted by email. THATS YOU!

People who get angry because someone disagrees with them are acting prideful and self centered, even if they are Christian. You are correct about simply going on to the next question if one offends you. I refuse to waste my time or energy on defending something that does not need to be defended or to answer something that has no point but is just someone chattering about whatever happens to enter their heads.

It is difficult sometimes to be honest. We are a society that does well in deflecting responsibility of self and we become a group of victims. Thus, often in this type of forum, people generally have little to fear, because it is an anonymous forum, as long as it is not abusive (so to speak), people can be 'themselves", as a result, this honesty can offend others.

You've insulted people in this forum right, left, and centre with questions such as these:

Pardon me, but I find your "Oh, how could anyone be upset and angry with sweet innocent little me?" routine to be hypocritical in the extreme. If you don't want to get splashed with the stinky stuff, then don't stir the manure pot.

The Antidote to Anger is the cultivation of Patience/Tolerance.

Kshanti: means Patience, Tolerance, internally calm, peaceful, endurance.

In Buddhism, Patience/Tolerance is defined as the ability to remain internally calm, peaceful, and undisturbed in the face of harm and difficulties in Life.

A Few Advantages of Patience:

1 - the stable calmness in the face of harm gives us space to evaluate situations clearly to make sound, wise decisions.

2 - Patience benefits our health by leaving
our mind free from turbulence and pain and our body free from tension.

3 - Patience enables us to forgive, and also enables us to live free from the pain of
grudges, resentments, and the wish for revenge. And then we are able to communicate more effectively with
others. And , instead of being ripped apart by anger, our relationships with
people are deepened by attentive
listening and kind considerate speech.

4 - Patience also directly affects the people
and atmosphere around us by short
circuiting the dysfunctional ways in which
people interact with each other.

5 - Patience enables us to respect the Free
Will of others.

As one cultivates this Patience/Tolerance
they have the ability to remain internally calm, peaceful, and undisturbed in the face of harm and difficulties and externally act/behave in a manner which benefits mankind. Anger will neither be expressed nor supressed, it will simply be absent, having been transformed into Patience and Compassion {is the wish for others to be free from suffering, to have peace of mind, and to be Happy).

In Buddhism, Patience is cultivated through Insight Meditation {or Mindfulness Meditation) and Analytical Meditation.
Loving-kindness meditation is quite helpful in reinforcing Patience, Compassion, and Loving-kindness toward others as well.
These are a few daily disciplinary methods Buddhists practice to cultivate mindfulness, to demonstrate compassion, forgiveness, patience, and loving-kindness {and friendliness) toward people.
Many faiths, and/or Philosophy's of Life use various disciplinary methods To Transform one's Mind, to cultivate Patience, in order to have compassion and love for others. Some religions teach that love (loving others) is Very Patient and kind.

With Metta {loving-kindness & friendship).

Words mean things.

Some words are like hate crimes. And like Gandhi said "All that is needed for evil to advance is for good men to do nothing."

I would hope humans are decent enough to ignore both lame questions and lame "personal offenses".

But maybe that's just me.
