I realize with DVI you only get video so I connected red and white rca cables for audio. However, I am not getting any sound. I made sure that they are connected to the input on the tv. I made sure to change the settings in the control panel for monitor speakers. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks. :-)

Go over all other inputs on your TV. Do you hear sound from the PC? If yes, you connected the PC output to the wrong input.

Some TVs require you to go to to their system menu and explicitly specify that audio over HDMI is separate. So, check the audio or system settings of your TV.

Finally, on the PC make sure that all audio out is enabled.

It seems that you probably needed Y-cable, so that it connects the "speaker out" of your PC and your RCA cable.
Since almost all PCs don't have RCA output.
