I met a girl online , we started dating, her Mom didn't like it or me, even before we ever met, she had her mind made up about me, I'm 15 years older than her, and I think that this was alot of the problem her Mom had. So she took it upon herself to conact my ex wife and get what dirt on me she could to tell her daughter. Of course my ex filled her full of things about me without telling her anything about her past , and believe me she was no saint. We all have past I think. This has really hurt our relationship.I understand that her mom was just looking out for her daughter, but I don't think that this was fair to me. I don't hold a grudge against her Mom , but this really hurts me. How should I handle this situation

How Old Is This Girl? If She's Under 18 Then I Would Let It Go Or You Could Be Facing A Rape Charge. If She's Not Then Just Tell Her The Truth, Don't Turn Her Against Her Mother. Or The Mother Will Hate You Even More And You Will Eventually Get In Trouble. Take It Slow, Just Keep Talking, Don't Make Either One Of Them Feel Uncomfortable. Maybe Talk To Her Mother And Tell Her Your Intentions. If You Think You're Ready To Meet Her, Meet Her Mother First And A Friend OF Hers So They Can Get Used To You And Make Sure Their Daughter Isn't In Any Harm. It Is Online Dating, So I'm Sure Anyone Would Be A Little Worried If Their Daughter Was Dating Someone Online They've Never Heard Of.

First; Is the girl you met on line legal? if so then I would think you could invite the mother to lunch and tell her to ask you anything she is concerned about. Let her know that information from your ex, may be tainted,(if your break-up was a bad one) and that your ex may not be a good character source. If you let her see the kind of person you are, she may change her opinion of you, (but then she may be just one of those interfering mothers, who want to control her daughter's life) and if this is the case you can determine if you want to deal with this aspect of the relationship.
People of consenting age usually work out age differences, but if this bothers the mother so much, be reassuring that this has been considered and discussed (if indeed it has) by you and your girl, and not to make an issue of it.

You should take a HINT and look for women YOUR age or within 5 years of your age! Her mother was correct to ruin your "relationship" if you were so much older than her young daughter. You didnt metion how old the girl is so I am 100% sure you knew people on Yahoo would say negative things about you if we all knew just how young she was. If she is still living with her mother or her mother is that much involved then she was TOO YOUNG for you. So suck it up loser and find adults your age, not little girls to play house with.

How old is she? How mature is she? Some girls are really dependent on what their parents think. I think this is really screwed up. If I were her, and my mom didn't like you, that would make me like you even more. This may be the same in your case. Hold your head up, things may work out after all! Good luck! If it doesn't work out, thank her mother because she is too much of a mama's girl and too immature for your time!

Just be honest and let the girl you met decide for herself. Im sorry but relationships come and go but her mom will always be her mom. She is looking out for her daughter who is dating someone 15 years older and from the internet!! I would have done the same thing her mom did. Sorry

If her daughter is an adult, then she should have kept her nose out of it, but I still understand why she did it. As far as your ex goes, she's not obligated to tell your girlfriend's mom anything about herself, as it has nothing to do with you, and she wouldn't be interested anyway. You'll just have to be good to her daughter and earn her trust. Good luck.

well, if she is listening to what other people are saying and not asking you then maybe you shouldnt be with her because what would happen down the road when other things come out, will she just believe everything everyone else is saying,, where is the trust and communication?

How old is she and how old are you? I'm guessing that as her Mom has so much control over her she is under 18.
