No. There is no heaven. There is no hell. You're friend is simply dead. Sorry to be the one to tell you.

In Christians context ..... yes, he will be in hell, but not now, he is now in the containment unit waiting for the end of the world when 2nd coming of Jesus Christ is here. Then he will be judged as anti-christ and be sent to the pits of fire (presumbly hell).

(But then, since he is a buddhist, we shall take it in a buddhist context. When he died, he is being transfered into another form, (In buddhist context, all forms in the universe does not increase, neither will is decrease, everything has their life and death and hence transforming from one form of energy to another form without adding or subtracting) and awaiting the correct situation where his energy will reconstruct again to perhaps this earth or other worlds. Since he was a good person, most probably he will have good karma :D).

Daisy Mae's answer is interesting, particularly the verse she quoted.
Jesus said "Verily Verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24)
The way I read it it identifies one sure path the Christians believe leads to heaven but does not, at least in this verse, say it is the only way. For example, it does not state that people who do not hear or do not believe are condemned to anywhere, only that those who do shall not come into condemnation.
I suspect that their is more than one path to salvation and that salvation isn't necessarily what we expect it to be.
I am also a Buddhist and am sure that if your friend led a good life he is not going to be punished for it by anyone.
Sorry that your friend died but remember that this is a normal event in the cycle of life.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.

I can only tell you what the Scripture states:

Jesus said "Verily Verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24)

If your friend refused to believe on Jesus as Savior and followed Budda instead then ..... Well the above says it all.

Speaking as a Christian, I can honestly say that it isn't my place to judge, it is Christ who will judge us. I also do know that the final judgment hasn't happened yet, so where ever he is, he is not in his final destination yet either; only the truly holy, the Saints, and those who died before Christ who chose to follow Him when He preached to the dead in Hades are in heaven with Christ, God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the angels.

Hello. While I tend to believe that only God knows the final place for your friend, there may have been a chance for him to receive Jesus. Do know though that God knows for sure and that the only way to Heaven is by Jesus God's Son. We can only hope that he made peace with God and accepted Jesus, for otherwise he did not make heaven. I wish I could tell you differently, but I know that God is merciful and may have brought your friend to saving grace. We must prepare our souls to meet God. Take care.

When a person dies the judgement belongs to God only. As soon as the person dies God gives the particular judgement to him and nobody knows. It is between himself and God. However good deeds consisting of true charity count most.

No, he is dead but he is not in a hell when Jesus come to judge people if he find him not an evil person he will resurrect it, and he has another chance. (John 5:28) (Acts 24:15)

If he rejected Jesus's gift of salvation. But can we really be sure of that? Only God can know for sure. And I personally don't believe that ANYone is in hell right now. We haven't been resurrected and judged yet, so we can't receive our punishment or reward yet.

I don't have the qualifications to judge your friend. Or anyone else for that matter.
