We haven't lost our edge we've lost our leadership. The troops are no longer allowed to defend themselves in WAR without having to go to prison. You can't scare somebody by pointing a weapon when they know you are not allowed to fire.
If we could get leadership, not these pansies we have in D.C., we could do our jobs. At the same time the people in this country have no desire to see us succeed. Nobody cares anymore what so ever and that is our biggest problem. People here don't see how good they have it but only listen to how bad others have it.
We are too worried about what these other Hypocrits from the countries of the world say about us. How easy it was for all of them to forget what they have done. We can still fight and win if the people in this country would just ONCE believe.

It depends on how the military was "allowed" to fight the war. If they had to be politically correct and only kill the "bad guys" then we would lose. If the military were able to kick ass and take names like they use to in war, then we would win. Part of the problem with our "edge" in the 21st century is that the military is being held back for fear of "public disproval" a disproval that they are already getting. Some people just dont understand that war is ugly, and that not only bad guys die.

Conventionally speaking, we are very capable. I have every confidence in the military. We have the technology, equipment and personnel to get the job done. But as soon as the Pentagon starts to take measures to accept that guerrilla warfare is a kind of war that some others fight, then we will be even better.
War is war. You can't always clip muj or the badies,... there are always gonna innocent civilians getting hurt.

The USA would be able to spank any conventional military in a few weeks.
Taking on a guerrilla warfare effort... well that's another story.

Bad. Our tech is good, but we would have no chance against the numbers of china or the will or Iran.
besides that , Iraq has made us much weaker and overextended. We would stand no chance. fly next to an atom bomb chace.
