Call your local branch office and report it. If they are not they may find themselves in hot water for impersonating a government official.

All agents should have business cards. Ask them for their business card and call the number on it. Ask whoever answers for the person who gave it to you.

If that doesn't work (or they are "out of cards right now"), call the the FBI office this person claims to work with and ask them if he/she works there. Explain that you are checking of the validity of someone claiming to be an Agent with the FBI. I am sure they will be interested if someone that doesn't work there is claiming to. It is against the law to falsely present yourself as a federal agent.

If there is room for question if this person is an agent, go with your gut and distance yourself from them. God gave you a gut feeling for a reason, don't second guess it.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Call the local FBI office. You tell them so and so is claiming to be an FBI agent; they will ask for his address. You give it. If he is not an agent, real ones will be at his door. It is a federal offense to impersonate an FBI agent.

well on tv they carry identification, and I imagine in real life they do too unless they are undercover in which case they wouldn't tell you they are fbi, and if you are married to or living with someone who says they are, their paycheque is probably issued by the govt of usa.

You call the F.B.I. agency office in your city and ask them if they have a so-and-so working for them. They will tell you yes or no.
