18-23 years...but heck ive seen pretty good yellow and orange cords(1-3yrs)....but like you said to become a mestre it takes a long time like with any art

Well capoeira , like kung fu, is a very complicated style. Most complicated styles take about 15-20 years to truly "master" and thats if you train without stopping intensly
