I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.

Good LUCK!

I've lost 40 pounds on weight watchers. But I don't do the meetings, I didn't want to publicize my progress(I think highly of group support, it just isn't for everyone). I used the information they offered to educate myself on which foods were sustaining my heavier weight and which ones would help me lose. It is a diet that gives you control over which foods you eat, they don't omit certain foods, they give you information on just about every food under the sun, that way you can make informed choices on what you're eating. Looking at it as an education instead of a diet also helped me to stick with it. If you do in fact have amazing will power I do believe this is for you. Because after you get used to it a little it gets easier, instead of harder like most diets.

First thing- don't change how much you eat (unless it is WAY WAY to much), start out by changing what you are eating. If it comes in a diet option, try it. If you are drinking 1% milk, try skim (or the next percentage down), avoid juice (liquid calories are way to easy to consume and hard to get rid of).

Second thing- Watch out for when you are eating these things, often times it is better to have smaller meals and snack throughout the day.

Third thing- NEVER EAT FAST FOOD. It is essentially a slow acting poison on your body and can lead to more health problems than you can think of.

Fourth thing- if you don't exercise, start out going for walks in the park or somehting, then bring it up to a light jog (once you are comfortable), then slowley bring up the intensity.

Fifth thing- Evaluate everything you put in your mouth, (i.e. avoiding higher fat meats like ribs, pork.. try fish instead or dear or chicken... then general meat rule is that the fewer legs it had as an animal, the better it is for you). Also, think about what goes into you ask yourself, "Should I be eating this?"

Sixth thing- You don't have to be doing all this 100% of the time, treat yourself, but recognize your priorities when it comes to it and don't let "treating yourself" get out of hand.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I had done the yo-yo thing for years. I finally found something that works!!! I started going to a First Place class. I learned a lot about nutrition. I learned how to eat in order to lose weight, and then maintain. The food plan is pretty much the same as the American Diabetic Assoc. food plan. The web site is www.firstplace.org Find a class near you. You will also find others who are in the same boat as you are. These classes are a great support team!!

Hmm... I have two ideas. One, keep a food diary, whether it's on paper or in an online blog. Most people find that when they keep a journal of what they eat they realize how much they are eating which is often too much or too much junk. Note when you feel hungriest during the day and what you eat to subside it. Maybe you are eating too many "bad carbs" and because of it your energy levels crash causing you to eat sugary, high-carb foods.
Another thing, don't "diet". Create a lifestyle of healthy eating. I like to abide by the South Beach Diet. The book explains how "good carbs" and "bad carbs" affect your body. The first two weeks are strict, but is neccesary and the most weight loss takes place. You then go into phase 2 which allows you to slowly add things back into your eating plan and phase 3 is the rest of your life. It works for me and my husband. He used to live off Ramen and Easy Mac.. now he enjoys whole wheat bread, buckwheat pancakes with sugar-free syrup, lean meats, nonfat milk, etc.
Good luck!

There are several kinds of diets:

Weight-loss diets restrict the intake of specific foods, or food in general, to reduce body weight. What works to reduce body weight for one person will not necessarily work for another, due to metabolic differences and lifestyle factors. Also, for a variety of reasons, most people find it very difficult to maintain significant weight loss over time. There is some thought that losing weight quickly may actually make it more difficult to maintain the loss over time.
Many professional athletes impose weight-gain diets on themselves. American football players may try to "bulk up" through weight-gain diets in order to gain an advantage on the field with a higher mass.
Physical exercise is an important complement to dieting in securing weight loss. Aerobic exercise is also an important part of maintaining normal good health, especially the muscular strength of the heart. To be useful, aerobic exercise requires maintaining a target heart rate of above 50 percent of one's resting heart rate for 30 minutes, at least 3 times a week. Brisk walking can accomplish this.

Hope this helps i had my gf go on this, i went on it when i was cutting. what you need to diet is protein and rich fats like milk and peanut butter. Try this, Breakfast: have a bagel with cottage cheese and crushed pineapple spread over it. For lunch have a chicken salad sandwhich, or chicken with rice and a fruit like grapes or a peach. 3-4 hours before you work out try to have a granola bar, you will need this energy for your workout. After your workout have a calcium shake, look that up on the internet there are tons. For dinner have a half plate of pasta with 1-2 piece of chicken and veggies. the good thing about veggies like broccoli is that your body cant break it down it just takes the nutrients and its done with it. that should be about it unless you want to start adding muscle too while your at it. if you do, just before bed have 2% cottage cheese with 1 tablespoon on peanutbutter mixed and a glass of milk. your body burns protein when you sleep so you dont want your body to take it from your muscles because your muscles help you lose fat. limit your beer to 1 drink per month and have light beer if possible. limit your wine to 1-2 glasses a week. hope this helps.

I think your problem is that you are looking at it as a diet. You need to think of it as a change in your bad habits. Like quitting smoking, you can't say "I'll quit till I feel better and then I can start smoking again." You have to realize that in order to loose weight you will have to change forever.
Try reading Bob Greens book "Get With the Program". It gave me a lot of inspiration, and maybe it will for you too!
