use a volume shampoo and then blow dry the roots with your head upside down then use the flat iron.

when you straighten your hair, hold the flat iron on each strand for a while but dont go over it several times, and use small sections. also to get volume near the part in the middle, turn your head upside down and put it in a high, lose ponytail. it works for me =]

If you want a little more volume, try flat ironing it first, then apply a mousse near your roots, then flip your hair over and blow dry. This should keep your hair straight but ad a little more bounce and volume so it's not so slicked down.

same problem here. here's the trick:

take all but a thin layer of hair at the bottom of your scalp and clip it on the top of your head like they do when yo get a hair cut. then straighten thin sections of the hair left hanging down.

take a layer at a time out of the clip and straighten VERY THIN LAYERS until you dont need the clip anymore.

take your fingers and floof your hair from the inside and unless you have to, don't brush your hair. you might have to but if you do, flip your hair and flip it back to give it some volume.

last, take a good medium hold hairspray (like paul mitchell or aussie) and spray your hair as you floof it.

complicated but works!

use a volumizing shampoo then blow dry it for a little more puff and then straighten it. dont let the straightner sit on the hair to long or it will become VERY flat.
