I've never heard of this. I would think vinegar would probably strip it of its essential oils. If you are going for the shiny look, there are shampoos and deep conditioners that will do the trick too... and they smell good! Also, I hear mayonnaise works wonders but I've never tried it. Deep condition or hot oil treatment once a week will do wonders. Edit: Now there's this product that has cider in it by Frederic Fekkaii, but it smells like apple.

vinegar works like a stripper on your hair, i have heard of alot of people with excessively oily hair using it to remove oil build up. yes it will make it look cleaner, but as far as shiny, i dont think having to smell the stuff would be worth the amount of shiny you would get from it. i went to hair school in the 90s and i know for a fact there are alot of great smelling products that will get you way more shine than any vinegar. try to use professional products though, alot of people think there isnt alot of difference other than the price, but there is. professional product tend to use natural extracts unlike store bought stuff that contains alot of alcohol, one of the worst things for your hair.

using a vinegar rinse after shampooing: puts the cuticle down on the hair shaft ,this makes it reflect more light ,thus shiner . the formula is; 1 part apple cider vinegar, to 8 parts water .

It is VERY true, although VERY damaging to your hair. It does what it does when you put coins in it to clean them- it eats away at the top layers. You shouldn't do this unless you're very talented at haircare.

I would advise, for some instant shine, use Umberto Giannini's gloss mist, or grab yourself some hot oil (it's just warm oil lol, not hot, but it's called that). Hot oil works wonders, better than any hair mask ^_^

Or for instant cleans rinse your hair with lemon-water.

good luck angel- look fabulous x x

Oh it works wonders and makes it very soft. After you wash and rinse your hair take 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup of water and mix them and pour over your hair. Wait a minute and then rinse with clean water.

I use Camera Ready shine spray, I think it's by Tigi Catwalk. You need VERY LITTLE, bc it's very concentrated. Spritz one spritz in your palms, rub them together and then glide over your hair. Or you can spray VERY sparingly. It's awesome stuff.

Otherwise maybe you can go to a salon and get a glossing to bring some dimension to the actual hair color itself.
