I already registered and I'm new at this, is the novice division a LBC level competition and does not advance to national tournaments? So you could be either US citizen or non-citizen, have less than 10 bouts, and have a club sponsor you. What are the age limits for every division (novice, sub, open)? I'm 18, and have no bouts, what division will they put me in?

Ricky ~

You would be in the Novice Division Ricky if you are Older than 22 you'd be in the Senor Novice Division. 16 to 21 no fights Novice if you are older than 22 Senior Novice. If you have over 10 fights no matter what, 16 and above your an Open fighter. Brent informed me the other day that the Masters Division of the Golden Gloves is alive and well.

All Golden Glove Tournaments are sanctioned by USA Boxing and they all follow the same rules. There is no Golden Gloves the will automatically make you a Open Fighter when you never had any fights, USA Boxing.com Rules and Regulations I don't care what state and city you live in

Thanks for the question Ricky. Good luck!

in Texas you would go straight to the open division because of your age-rules here for novice are -less than 18 yrs old-16 and over- 5 fights or less or having never won a major tournament -hope that helped some

if its your first fight you will be in the all comers division. Age doesnt matter what division you are in, it depends on the number of fights you have.
