I am just simply trying to start some sort of intelligent questions and answers in this R & S category.

Are you kidding? I study in the original Texts, and most of whats written isn't taught in the churches;
The fact that Adam was not Cains father.
The fact that the sin of Eve was not eating fruit.
The fact that it was not the Tribe of Judah
("jews") who yelled "crucify him!".
The fact that God only approves of a church who teaches one specific thing.
The fact that the Bible states this earth to be eons and eons in age.
The fact that there have been three earth ages, one before, one now, one to come.
What would you like to discuss, there are hundreds of incredibly important facts in Scripture that 99% of Christians are not taught. It would blow you away....

1 Kings 18:30-39 TNIV

30 Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come here to me." They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the LORD, which had been torn down. 31 Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, "Your name shall be Israel." 32 With the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs [a] of seed. 33 He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, "Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood."

34 "Do it again," he said, and they did it again. "Do it a third time," he ordered, and they did it the third time. 35 The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.

36 At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: "LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again."

38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

39 When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, "The LORD—he is God! The LORD—he is God!"

My understanding is to not build alters and commit sacrifices. This almost makes me afraid to have a BBQ.

I collect such scriptures.

This one is from my list entitled "never to be read by the priest before passing the collection plate"...

Exodus 20:24,25
Make an altar of earth for me...If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it.

The way I understand this? I've served on one too many church building committees. The money can always be better spent.

Philippians 3:13 My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead.

I think the verses around this gets a lot more attention then verse 13. Many of us are stuck on what is behind us. We dwell on what someone has done or hasn't done. We dwell a lot on our own sins in our own minds. But we all need to focus on what is ahead, because we can not do anything to change what is behind us. But if we focus on glorifying God in all we do the struggle that what lies ahead of us will be full of joy because that is where Jesus is. Amen?

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.


If it was preached often there would be less gays, fornicators, adulterers and all other sinful and evil things in the world. Because they would be trying to get right so they can enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Rev 20 portrays the souls of those who had been killed for their witness to Jesus..verse 4....this is symbolic of the saints.
Rev 20:1-6 pictures the reward of the saints.....they are seen ruling with the Messiah for 1000 years or a millenium..

Matthew 5:27 - Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 - But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Matthew 19:9 - And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

Clearly, the Christian god commands the killing of non-believers. ('Infidels'.) Just like Allah does....

When I was in church, I never heard much about the demons being driven into the pigs by Jesus and then running off of a cliff. It's found several places in the Bible, but I can't remember the exact chapters/verses.

'Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them' Deuteronomy 4:9
