So i am a 15 year old girl, and I have been playing since I was probably about 6 or 7. I took lessons until I was 12, and now I am trying out for my high school's golf team. I am so nervous to try out but everyone keeps telling me not to worry and just try my best. I was just wondering if anyone else thought I was "good" My average score for 18 holes is about an 85. thanks so much :)

I definitely think you are a good player. Whether you are good enough for your high school team depends on the school. At some schools, you have to shoot consistently in the 70s to even have a chance. At other schools (like in my area), 90s shooters can be team starters.

Just do your best and continue to work on your game. You can be as good as you want to be if you are determined. Best of luck!

You are good enough to play on the team and you should try out. Playing on the team gives you some great experience and a chance to improve your game substantially. I wish I had tried out for my school's team but back than golf wasn't cool so I didn't. Now I'm Finally playing decently but I could have gotten a lot farther if I had played in school. GO FOR IT!!

Not to worry. You'll do fine. If you shoot 85 for 18 holes you'll definitely make the team. I played on our HS golf team and enjoyed that better than any other part of HS. Good luck!!

I think that's pretty good. of course, I know nothing about golf though, but I would try out. especially if it something you really want to do. you should keep practicing to get as good as you could. but i would try out. no matter what people think. if you go worrying about what people think it will probably just put more pressure on you than you already have and will probably make you more nervous than you already are. Just go out there and do the best you can.

Does your school NEED players?

Are returning players as good as an 85?

Try out and let the COACH decide if you make the team.

Good Luck....

Going by what you are saying I think you are better than you give yourself credit. Have confidence in your ability and play within yourself. Don't try to over do it. Relax. You'll find that your swing-follow-through will flow better than when you press. Good luck. I'll be watching for you on TV.

Go for it. It will also give you a good chance to practice. Dont let anyone intimidate you, just play your own game. So, go for it so that later in life you wont have to think "WHAT IF". Think positive and amazing things will happen and who knows where you will end up. GOOD LUCK.
