When a dog licks your feet? My aunts dog always licks peoples feet and for some reason everyone in my family likes it. I find it really disgusting and get grossed out. My family thinks that i'm weird because i think that it's gross. Am i being the weird one or is my family being weird?

The reason dogs lick feet is because humans have scent glands in their feet. It's the same reason dogs tend to sniff crotches and butts. They're making sure we are who we're supposed to be. It's perfectly normal for people to find it disgusting, or to be just fine with it. If you don't like it, tell the dog "no" when he/she starts to lick your feet. It's not the dog's fault, nor the person's fault. It's just nature.

I don't think it's weird, disgusting or gross. My cousins 1 year old male Labrador licks every ones feet! If you don't like it, just move away or say 'NO' to the dog when he does lick your feet.

I don't think it is weird. My dog does it and to tell you the truth it does feel good. Just be glad it could be worse. My dog licks the boogers out of my husbands nose and my husband allows him to do this. Talk about disgusting.

I think its nasty too. My dad lets the dog lick his feet. The sound of it totally grosses me out. Youre not alone:)

Actually, no one is being weird. A dog licking your feet, is showing acceptance of your presence. You either like it, or you don't. Don't watch it or let him lick yours, if it bothers you.

Dogs lick because of the salt on your skin. Being that your feet are a moist area on your body the salty taste is probably stronger than on other areas of your body.

My mom's dog does that. I think it's slimy and disgusting and feels like worms are crawling between your toes. Maybe it's different if it's your own dog. Kind of like when you wipe your own kid's nose vs someone elses.
