Just wondering what people think.
I have been planning on getting a tattoo on my lower back for some time now. Everyone I tell this to wants me to change it saying its nothing but a tramp stamp.

I still want to get it, but dont want people to think of me like that.
What do you think about this?

The tattoo would be of an ankh.

I say GO FOR IT. I myself had my large tattoo put across the top of my breast's. It won't be affected with time or gravity. there is so much color and detail, yes it was very painful but I would do it again. I would love to have a back tattoo myself.

Why should you care what other people think? It's your body. I actually liked the fact that when I got mine done, I made a firetruck of men swerve in traffic from looking. It's all cool, I'm not a tramp, I have 3 children and a long time marriage.
I'm not a tramp or sleezy or anything.
If you don't care what others think then get the tattoo. If your having that much of a question about it, perhaps you shouldn't.
I would love one, just can't afford it right now, and the pain issue is a huge factor too. lol

you know what i want to say to people who say that a lower back tattoo is a tramp stamp? 'you're mom's a tramp stamp.'
that is ridiculous. the thought that right now you are NOT a tramp but the minute you get a lower back tattoo you are MAGICALLY transformed into a tramp.
it's dumb. get what you want and be proud of it.
i don't have a lower back tattoo like that (anymore, i got it covered up) but when my back is finished it will be completey tattooed so i still consider myself as having a lower back tattoo and i take offense.
so there's my two cents!

it is unfortunate that they call it that. ther are many peopel out ther ewho have lower back tattoos and are not tramps one bit! i think it is a GREAT location for a tattoo! easy to gied or to show.. also! if you were to hav children that area would hardly be essfected.. actually most liekely not at all.. and when it comes to aging.. gravity wont take it toll on the tat and ruin it compare to lets say the arms, breast, stomach, or legs!.. who cares if peopel think of you like that! honestly! you know youself the best and YOU know you are NOT a tramp.. so anyone who thinks that is just another ignorant idiot on the street who judges peopel to quickly! and having a tattoo on the lower back itsn "un original" well isnt also unoriginal also on the foot? the wrist? your hip? you shoulder blade?! having a tattoo there is not unoriginal and has benefits as stated above! i myself am going to get one on my left shoulder blade.. for my first tat =)

good luck! and dont let stupid idoitic ignorant judgemental peopel think of you any waydifferently!

I hate that phrase more than I could tell you. There is nothing about the tattoo that makes you a tramp....if the girl is a tramp, then she is, with or without a tattoo.........get what you want where you want.

i think the people who are telling you that lower back tats are tramp stamps are tramps themselves. i have one and am nowhere near a tramp. it is nice in that particular area if you wear the hipster type pants, bathing suits, or if you want to get sexy for your boo. get it girl and tell those people who have something negative to say to you about it that if it where a tramp stamp, wouldn't any tat placed anywhere on your body make you a tramp?

I think it depends on how you present yourself.

I personally think lower back tatoos as sexy. SOME OF THEM anyways. Some can really look trampy while others are just beautiful. It just all depends on what you get. :)

I myself do not have one (nor a tattoo) My mom and dad would probably freak even though dad has one. I'd like to get a small one someday somewhere, where it won't matter after I have kids.

any tat anywhere is cool.

that said, it has become a common phrase that a tat on the extreme lower back is a tramp stamp. If you get one there just keep that in mind.

i say do whatever you want and if someone caused you grief pick up a brick and smash thier face in.

i think you should not listen to everyone else and do what you want to do. i am not a tramp im happily married with a fairly large tattoo on my back. i think the other people are just hatin cause they dont have the balls to go get ink done. you shouldent live your life for what other people think of you.
