i am 21 years old and am dating a 27 year old, i havent told my mom because i am afraid to tell her because i think she will say negative things like he's too old for me. my parents are 6 years apart 2, so please tell me what you think.

You won't be able to control how she responds to it, no matter how you tell her. She will eventually find out the age difference.
Just be honest, you are old enough for your mom's opinion not to bring you down. You are your own adult person now and have to make your own choices, not based on what she approves or disapproves of.

I think that your Mom is going to be negative no matter what, it's just natural for Moms to be critical of who their children are dating. Just try telling your Mom how much you care for him and start talking about his good attributes, personality etc...

You are over age 18 therefore you are an adult- your mom has no control over who you date. With it only being a couple years difference- she shouldnt have anything to say about it as long as her treats you good.
