My friend is getting married (not soon, in a year!).
Right now shes just engaged but she is starting to think about what she'd like for her wedding. She loves tiger lillies, and plans to spend alot of the budget having those as the flowers. With that in mind I suggested orange bridesmaids dresses, which was another idea she loved.
She is looking for a simple color scheme with minimal colors. So far she is thinking Orange, White, and Yellow. I wonder what you can come up with?

I recommend a *pale* blue to liven up the color scheme. Since blue is the opposite of orange on the color wheel, one color does not dominate the other. For this reason, you would want to lighten one or the other (in this case, blue).

Your friend should decide upon a primary color (a color which she wants to be the main color) and then decide on secondary and third colors (colors that willl act as accents). Yellow is a good choice, as long as it is also light. So your friend might use a medium orange (not too dark but not too light) as the primary color, and then add pale blues and yellows as well as white as accents to give the wedding a refreshing mix of spring colors. By the way, these colors seem very "springy" so if she is getting married next spring, I think this is a good choice. You can even keep this group of colors but switch the accents. For example, you can use a stronger blue (maybe sky blue) and then a light yellow and pale orange and white. Blue and yellow also look good toghether when you lighten one next to the other.

But my favorite combination is lavender and yellow (so if she decides not to go with orange, definitely suggest yellow and a light purple! Very springy and romantic).

Blue compliments Orange on the color wheel but not many people would be so bold for a wedding.
I am a florist and thinking in terms of flowers, lemon hues would go great with a bold color like orange.
I have made quite a few hand-tied bouquets with tiger Lily's and burnt orange (Lambada) color roses.
Tip: Make sure the florist removes the stamens (pollen) from the lilies because if the pollen gets onto the dress it Will leave an orange stain :o)

I think that you all should go to a flower shop and have someone put together a selection of flower including the tiger lilly. What ever flowers look good with the tiger lilly pick the color of that flower.
Or she could use the tiger lillies and accent with peach and use a color that goes with the peach instead. Peach and orange are cousins.

Orange and white may well be very incredibly and that i like the yellow besides..maybe a greater muted yellow regardless of the indisputable fact that? She could additionally bypass with: Orange and brown (a effective shade scheme for a fall wedding ceremony) Orange and pink (a effective scheme for a spring wedding ceremony) Orange and gold (yet another effective determination for a fall wedding ceremony)

Orange, yellow, red. Those are very nice together. Kind of the colors of fall. A thing with lillies to be a lil worried about, is people with allergies. I used to babysit for a lady who did floral arangements. The bride used lillies everywhere, well turns out her maid of honor was allergic to them, wasn't aware of the allergy prior. I guess as the ceremony progressed you could see her break out in hives, & then start to itch. She wasn't in a lot of the group pics. So test them out before hand, just to be safe. I'd say just go to a nice flower shop, experiment with the different colors, find which ones she likes.
Personally, I get migraines from lillies, since they are such a strong scented flower.

is this going to be a spring summer thing? if it's a nice bright shade of orange, hot pink and yellow will go nicely. I do like the idea of the white with the yellow and orange as well. Orange is a hard color to match up with. Green would go well, many different shades.

good luck.

What season of the year is helpful? spring- I would go with the orange white and yellow maybe a little lilac or orchid; summer- orange purple (a really rich vibrant purple not so blue based) and white; fall orange and brown and ivory, winter i wouldnt do orange at all. I did the oranges with purples and whites for my bouquet that was summer I used the tiger lilies with tulips of purple orange and white with heather, pansies. No babies breath or roses for me. Also carnations can be dyed and make a nice long lasting filler flower

I think Orange, White and Yellow are the way to go. Those were my cousins colors and everything looked great.

Click on the 'random base' button until you come up with the right color oragne. It will show you other oranges that will go with it.

Or look on a color wheel. Colors directly across usually compliment as do the colors done it thirds. Make a triangle with the orange color as the peak.
