They have offered us 2 free airline tickets (you have to stay in a select hotel for a minimum # of nights) or a free cruise with the purchase of one cruise ticket if my fiance and his groomsmen get fitted for tuxes before the end of this month. My fiance already gets a free tux rental because I bought my dress at David's Bridal (sister company to AfterHours).

Have you used this or know anyone who has? Is is really a good deal or just a scam to get more money out of you?

I haven't used this particular deal but in general, deals like this are one step away from a scam. The airline tickets are often heavily restricted or have major blackout dates, which makes it very hard to actually redeem them, or the sponsoring hotel has inflated prices. The cruise tickets are likewise overpriced and tend to only let you reserve the least desirable cabins. Generally companies run promotions like this to sell off tickets and reservations that people won't otherwise pay for.

Definitely read the fine print before you make any decisions. Find out what airline or cruise line you would be getting your free tickets with, and call them directly to check the availability. Don't take the tuxedo shop's word for it, or their travel agent--- talk to the airline or cruise line directly.

I'm not saying there can't be good deals out there or that some companies aren't really giving you a good loyalty reward when they make these offers but they do tend to be a way for another party to make money. Just do your homework first.

i'm attempting to try this, too. I figured because of the fact they're all getting outfitted at AfterHours, we could besides do it via the top of March, and if that's a crock, oh properly, and if it somewhat is not, cool.
