It seems that marijuana possession is a recent phenomenon that is getting worse and worse. To combat this, there is no doubt that we need to stiffen penalties in order to let people know that marijuana possession does not pay. So why don't we initiate the death penalty for marijuana users? I think that this would be a great idea since what better way is there to stiffen a penalty than death? And it's not like they are innocent or anything? I believe that this is the only way we can combat this serious problem.

Any thoughts?

Why not initiate the death penalty for eating peanuts?

A little history lesson... Alcohol Prohibition actually increased crime and created more problems than it solved. It's not that surprising is it?

Marijuana occurs naturally, has medicinal properties, and causes less risks than practically any artificial drug sold by the pharmaceutical companies or smoking cigarettes.
BTW, I do smoke cigarettes, but not weed.

See what some of the law enforcement community has to say about it:

So let's start the death penalty with people that share you're draconian opinion. Maybe then people will start using some common sense and basing opinions on facts rather than marketing rhetoric propagated by your kin in their 'war on drugs' that has caused the death of more innocent people, and had more of a detrimental effect on the economy and society in general than all 'illegal drug' users combined.

kill em all! heck, speeders on our highways are killing others every day...we should also put people who speed to death. we will be safer that way. I mean, we need to let these people know that speeding does not pay. It would stiffen the penalty and then no one would ever speed. It's not like they are innocent or anything, I mean they do have a speedometer, right? I believe this is the only way to combat this problem of speeders jeopardizing all of us. Kill 'em!

After WW11 Russia took all known drug users and drug dealers out into the street and shot them. What are you high? Kill stoners, do you know how much money that would take? FIrst they appeal, then they hang around death row for a couple of years, some as long as a decade. And who pays, us tax-payers.

Why not the drugs that are actually screwing up the world like Meth, Ecstasy and Cocaine? Or lets go the other way and include alcohol in that mix?

Yeah lets pick on the lazy pot heads who are too stoned to cause any real problems.

How about real meaningful punishments that actually cause people to want to change their ways.

Heaven forbid. That is not an offense that should be worthy of the death penalty. Our prisons are filled to capacity now, leave the death penalty for murders and rapists and people that sell secrets to our enemies.

I think your retarded and I've just become stupider myself for reading your post/question.
But i must respond. How about we drag big tobacco's head honcho's out into the middle of the street and shoot them ? they kill thousands a day .... Then again theres the folks that make alcohol they kill alot also....... they could be put to death... then theres all the amphetamine/opiate dealers they could go as well since their drugs cause crime and death so get rid of them as well.... but pot smokers im confused Ive never heard of anybody doing anything illegal because they where high on the mean green. But also theres cancer and aids patients that smoke illegally (but for medical reasons) they (i guess are bad guys also). I really think that taxing pot makes more since than it being illegal but that's just me........

I think you're out there.

It's been known for thousands of years that marijuana has medicinal properties. It's a plant that grows naturally, so tell me again why it should be criminalized?

I've never used it myself for the record.

Now how about alcoholics? Look at all the drunks out there who can't drive. Yet it's legal to have alcohol (given that you meet certain conditions).

If you instituted the death penalty for everyone who smokes weed.... do you have any idea how many peopel would get killed? I'm including police officers here to.

Besides what does pot do? It's much less harmless than alcohol... alcohol starts fights and pain... pot increases sales of snacks at local convenient stores... instead of drinking and driving, pot heads sit around and eat.... REAL dangerous eh?
