A Bedouin prince had three diamonds which he kept in a box with a sliding lid that he kept firmly closed. One day a thief sneaked into the prince's tent and within moments had safely stolen the diamonds. How did he do it?

Clue:

It takes a little brainpower to figure this one out....I will post the answer tomorrow...no one has it yet, though a couple are quite close. And yes, the thief is a total stranger-the prince would have no need to steal his own diamonds, now would he.
