A lot of people here have complained about women wearing "indecent" clothing, like thong bikinis, jean skirts, etc. I would understand if it was your daughter or little sister wearing those things, but if it's a stranger, why bother? Is it any of your business?

cause some people are nosey. they are not happy unless they are arguing and complaining about something. i dont understand either. i dont wear thong bikinis, but if we are at the beach, and a women is wearing that, i dont see nothing wrong with it. if you have the body, then yeah, you should show it off!!!! i have gone into a store before in the summer with short shorts on and have had someone make a comment about me wearing them, if u dont like it, then dont look!! i can wear what ever i want. my choice. i have learned that most the people that seem to have a proble with it are overweight women, and older men and women.

You're right it isn't any of their business but there are women who think that women are misrepresenting themselves when they wear these kind of clothes and believe it or not, there are men who care whether and how women carry themselves. There are Some Good Men out there in the world who think that women shouldn't be dressing like that. I am one of these women and my husband is one of these men, so I guess these women would put a damper on other women who dress the right way. However, I do agree with you - it is none of a stranger's business how a person dresses.

As a civilization, do we have any rights to "standards" of any kind; whether that be language used in public, clothing worn or NOT worn in public?

Do we simply agree that anyone and everyone can do whatever they like if it doesn't actually kill us? Do we attempt to shelter our children from anything in public, or condition them that others have the right to do whatever they please, and they WILL ALSO have the right, and actually an obligation to be independent of others' opinions, when they reach majority age?

How about sexual acts? Should everything sexual also be readily available, on stage, film, etc., or should we censor some things, but not others. Who makes these determinations? What about relationships deemed inappropriate by YOU, or by certain groups? So many questions!!

I wonder??? Does this build a better civilization?

The reason it is anyone else's business is because other people have to be exposed to it...personally, I don't want to see any one else's goodie bags while I am going about my daily business. And they are putting quite a bad influence on daughters and little sisters...In the grand scheme of things though, it doesn't matter just a whole lot. I'm not going to raise a fuss about it.

Most people are quite tolerant when you think about it. That said - Yes. It is our business.
Self-expression that offends others should be evaluated with respect in mind for them as neighbors. Everyone deserves respect, and people should not abuse that right by demanding their way in its name while withholding respect for those who offend them.

Because it ruins my day at the beach. I'm there to enjoy the sky, sand, and water- not someones flesh. I do not want to look at that, and I do not want my kids seeing that.
