missouri is the number one puppy mill state, i would say walk anywhere one a RR and you will find a cheap maltese

the problem is, when a dog is cheap to buy it is often very expensive to maintain, and you will end up with vet bills out the whazoo, and you will have saved nothing

if you want a puppy go to a breeder who shows thier dogs, that way you knwo your getting a dog that is worth the extra money in the end, you will have a better pet and less stress

go to the dog shelter if you are looking for a cheap dog (you will be saving a life) Maltese's are not cheap dogs, if you add up the cost of grooming and care over the years you will be spending a lot of money in the long run. Please research breeders"cheap" maltese's often are not of good quality .

I'm from Missouri (Columbia) and there are many, many puppy mill dogs in this state. The shelter I volunteer and foster for get them in all the time. Check www.petfinder.com and save a life! See the following listings...

I would try the pound. Many dogs are purebred, and all of them are dirt cheap. Instead of supporting abuse in puppy mills, you'd be giving a stray or abandoned pup a chance at a decent life. =)

Go to www.puppyfind.com enter the breed and you can scroll and look at at sellers location, as well as age, the amount for the puppy, and any shipping costs (if shipping is necessar) And the price for the puppy, well you have to define Cheap, and look at your limits as what you feel the dog is worth.
