When I read parts of the bible I sometimes think that their god is like a scientist in the 50's with lab rats and a maze. The rats are given "free will" as they go about the maze. The scientist wants a specific result; he punishes the rat for not finding the right path, and rewards the rat for finding the right one. Abraham's god is like the scientist and we humans are the free will experiment, Earth is the maze. Punishment for not following the right path, hell...
The view of the world and God in the bible differs greatly form my view of life on Earth, or what God is.

The Christian God and the Islamic god Allah are not the same.

Allah gave his favorite followers free will just so they could punish _______. I don't understand.

So are you saying that parents who punish their children do not love them?

First, do not combine the Judeo-Christian God with the Islamic Allah, They are two different intities and with some research you would know this.

Second, God didn't give us free-will to punish us but so that we (God and ourselves) could have a true relationship with one another. People can freely choose to love and obey and relate with Him or they can reject Him. He is just and faithful to His Word regardless of how we decide to associate with Him.

Firstly, we have free-will in order to be able to love. Without a choice, love isn't love...it's fear.

Secondly, hell isn't punishment. It's an alternative. We can either choose to be with God (heaven), or we can choose to be completely without Him (hell). People don't go to hell because God's mad; people go to hell because they choose to do so.
