There are other medications for pain. You should see a pain management specialist. They use a variety of modalities to treat pain including medication, nerve blocks, massage, etc. You may need a different treatment in addition to the medication.

Vicodin is terrible for you. It will damage your liver and generate a huge amount of free radicals that will age you.

Pain in legs and lower back can be greatly helped with the herb called "devils claw." It is called that because the plant has a lot of spines on it and resembles a claw. This herb helps open up the lymphatic system as well that helps eliminate toxins and dead cells. It is used quite extensively in Japan and other countries with great results. I would suggest buying it from a quality source that does not put it in pill form because in pill form or gelatin capsules greatly diminish it's effectiveness. Go the this web site and order: immunocidin because it is loaded with devil's claw. www.healthline.cc

You need to then address the arthritis. There is no reason you should have this with all the good information available that can get rid of it.

There are various things that can cause arthritis like symptoms and be diagnosed as arthritis that actually are not arthritis at all. Have you considered Food Intolerances? Food intolerances are not caused by the food itself, usually, but your body's reaction to the food. Poor digestion and inflammation are typically the reasons for developing this. You can improve your digestion by purchasing Betaine HCL + an activator from the web site listed above. Take two HCL and one activator with each meal. Then you can systematically eliminate each of the following items separately for a few days to see if you get better. Wheat, Dairy products, Yeast (found in alcoholic drinks, stock cubes, savoury flavourings, gravy mix, bread & pizza), Eggs.

While you are trying these foods, eliminate chocolate, sugar, tea and foods with sweets in them.

Eliminate all omega 6 oils and foods. Eliminate all SOY products and CANOLA oils and foods containing them. These are inflammatory and can cause the problem. Eat a lot of omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oils, grass fed cattle, flax, etc.

Good luck in figuring out the problem. Doctors will be of little use here. There solution is to relieve the pain and let the problem go on and on.

good luck

Vicodin contains acetaminophen. Not really going to do much for the swelling in your joints. You need Ibuprofen--an anti-inflammatory. If you must take a narcotic for the pain, talk to your doctor about changing your medication to Vicoprofen. It's hydrocodone and Ibuprofen.

You can check into one of the arthritis prescriptions. Vicodin is just a pain reliever, doesn't do that much.

"Vicodin is terrible for you" To clarify, it's the aceteminophen in vicodin that causes these problems, not the hydrocodone. So he could also be talking about Tylenol etc.

My grandmother was having the same kind of symptoms...she went to a pain management doctor and he did electroshock theropy. It has no side effects and you don't become addicted to it like you can regular pain meds...Most insurance covers it and there is no pain!!!! I know that it freaks some people out but trust me it is great!!!!
Good luck!! :)

Try to upgrade to Extra Strength Vicodin. The small milligrams is insignificant. If you get this one, eat and sleep perfect.

You need to take something for the swelling as that is what causes the pain. At least that is what my Dr. says and it helps me. (Until we get a change in the weather)
