Three hours.
The digging rate is 1/3 of a hole per two hours per man. to dig half hole by one man is 1/2 X 2 ÷ 1/3 = 3 hours.
Or:
each man's share of the hole is one third, and takes two hours to dig it . To dig one complete hole alone need 6 hours. Then to dig half a hole will take him 3 hours.

You can't dig half a hole. No matter how wide or deep the hole you're digging. It still consider as a "complete" hole. There is no such thing as half a hole when you're digging.

3 hours.
But that assumes that all men were working at the same speed, and that they were not interfereing with each other (BSing, geting in each other's way, hitting each other with shovels, ectera)(and that the hole is measured off of each other, and by half a hole you mean a hole half as deep> ie first hole 6ft, seccond hole 3ft)
