If you have a regular menstruation cycle, then you should ovulate two weeks after you start your period.
If you start your period on the 2nd of the month, you should ovulate on the 16th. You should be most fertile on that day and the two following days.

Well the best time a woman can conceive is 14 days before her next period. But this happens only when she's regular. If she knows when her next period will come then she can calculate 14 days backwards and asume for the ovulation day. Two days before that and two days after that are assumed as fertile period. So if your cycle is of 28 days then the most fertile period will come on Day 14 from the first day but if your cycle is 30 days then it will come on Day 16 and so on. it should be 14 days from the start of next period.

After the first 5 days of her cycle (starting on the 1st day of her period.) I suggest getting the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" (you can get it cheap) to help dispel some of the fertility myths out there (such as that women ovulate on day 14 of their cycles.)
