Could you get tickets to an upcoming baseball game; even if it is months away, it would be something for him to look forward to doing with you. Or, you could go to the sports section of your local bookstore and look for a suitable book on baseball celebraties.. Or..how about a baseball hat or t-shirt with the insignia of his favourite team? You might try looking online for such items. Ebay is another source for baseball memorabalia.

Get him something that he'll know that you put time and thought into. Does he have a favorite baseball team? If so, maybe you could get something with their logo on it - a hat or a pillow or something. Just put some thought into it, that really is what counts, no one can fault you for trying.

well it all depends on the guy.I mean not every guy has the same interests.So you may want to get to know this guy and if you do already know him then you should be able to pick a gift more easily.
